Barb

"The Community Based Assessment program helped me decide what kind of work I wanted to do. After doing my assessment at Elderberry Junction I knew this was what made me happy. There was an opening and I applied. Working with the seniors makes it an enjoyable and fulfilling place to work.”

Barb found work that makes her happy with Goodwill's Assessment Services.

Barbara was referred for a Community Based Assessment to help her decide on a vocational goal. After being a housewife and mother for 30 years she was unsure what she wanted to do. Barbara was considering general office work or something in the social work area. The evaluator suggested doing the assessment at Elderberry Junction, Goodwill’s center for seniors who have developmental disabilities. After completing the assessment, Barbara decided working in a senior center was what she would like to do. Soon afterward a position became open at Elderberry Junction, and Barbara was hired!

"I like making the building look neat and clean!"

Jason works hard for Goodwill and is very well liked by other participants and staff.
