History

Goodwill Employment Training Center (GETC) is a business unit of Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania. In 1996, Goodwill Employment Training Center received its private school license from the Pennsylvania Department of Education State Board of Private Licensed Schools and began operations.

Educational Philosophy and Objectives

The primary goal of GETC is to prepare our students to successfully enter the contemporary world of work through quality vocational educational programs. Each student is provided with a learning environment which is designed to provide intensive, hands-on opportunities to achieve the skill levels necessary to acquire employment in their chosen area of study. In addition, each student is provided with a strong orientation to the pursuit of lifelong learning in order to enhance their future career development. The curriculum for each Program of Study is continually evaluated and updated to ensure that our courses consistently meet the skill requirements of the industry.
