What is an ICDL Profile or Certification?
With an ICDL Profile, you can become certified in the skills you require for your educational and professional needs. You choose the module combinations best suited to you which then represent your ICDL Profile.
Attaining an ICDL Profile is a continual process. You can build on it over time, as your needs change, or as technology evolves and more modules are developed. In this way, your ICDL Profile grows with you: it shows your commitment to lifelong learning and the continuous upgrading of your digital skill set.
You can get an ICDL Base Certification which includes completion of 4 modules or the ICDL Standard Certification which includes completion of the 4 Base modules, and 3 additional modules listed below.
What do the test modules include?
ICDL Base modules certify skills that are considered essential skills because they are crucial for anyone to possess who uses a computer. Base Profile Test modules include:
- Computer Essentials
- Online Essentials
- Word Processing
ECDL / ICDL Standard modules complement the range of Base modules. They will enable you to develop your skills in knowledge areas that are appropriate for your everyday life, or for your job role.
- Using Database
- Project Planning
- IT Security
- Online Collaboration
How much does the ICDL test cost?
The cost of the Base Profile Certification is $125. The cost of the Standard Profile Certification is $175. The cost includes online courseware, a practice exam, and a certification exam for each module (4 for Base; 7 for Standard.)
