Vinny

< Previous   Next >

"Goodwill and the IVRP program gave me a chance when I was down on my luck and desperate.  It was humbling, but I needed to be humbled. Goodwill & OVR stood by me every step of the way.  Their support helped me take the steps to make my business the success it is today.”

Vinny turned his life around using Goodwill's IVRP program.  He now owns his own business, and uses it to give others a helping hand.

Vinny first came to Goodwill December 1993 in the Intensive Vocational Rehabilitation Program (IVRP). Upon successfully completing the 30-day IVRP program he was hired as a one-on-one job coach at Goodwill in Fayette County. He then took a position as a Program Specialist working with clients in the janitorial and recycling training programs and then with consumers with mental health issues. In 1998 he returned to his salon full-time as the owner/operator. His willingness to provide opportunities to other individuals and to share his personal experience with others makes him truly successful and an inspiration to others.

"I would not be where I am today if not for Northside Common Ministries."

Thomas came to Goodwill through the Youth program, where he transitioned into employment training with Goodwill's Production Services program as part of his graduation plan with the Children's Institute.
