Pittsburgh, PA, February 4, 2015 – Goodwill of Southwestern PA and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Lawrenceville, will partner to provide free computer classes to area residents in need. The first of classes will take place on Thursday, March 12 and Thursday, March 26, from 6pm to 8pm, at Goodwill’s Workforce Development Center (WDC) in Lawrenceville, 118 52nd Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15201.
“Goodwill is very pleased to work with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh - Lawrenceville to offer these free computer classes,” said Jaime Tracktenberg, Goodwill’s Program Manager for Assessment and Training. “These classes are a great opportunity for those looking to add new skills to their resume or those simply wanting to brush up on their current skills.”
Classes will be taught by experienced instructors from Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh – Lawrenceville using Goodwill’s computer training curriculum. Topics to be offered include social media, internet safety, Microsoft basics, and more. Free parking is available for participants at Goodwill’s WDC, which is also easily accessed by the 91A Port Authority Transit Bus Line.
Goodwill and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh plan to team up for two Thursday evening classes per month in the future, based on the demand from the public. Additional class dates will be posted on Goodwill’s website: www.goodwillswpa.org/calendar-of-events.
