The entire event is free and open to the public and no preregistration is required.  Job seekers should come prepared to fill out applications, and bring contact info for references and past experience. Applications will be made available for open positions at various Lawrenceville-area restaurants including Eat’n Park, Franktuary, Giant Eagle/GetGo, Gus’s Café, Kaleidoscope Café and Pesaro’s Pizza.

Goodwill SWPA is holding the Food Service Industry Application Fair as a part of “Goodwill Week.” Every year during the first full week of May, Goodwill agencies across the U.S. and Canada celebrate the power of work with special events, job fairs and promotions.

“This is a great opportunity for area residents to utilize our Lawrenceville WORKS! program and take advantage of job opening at local restaurants,” said Ella Holsinger, Vice President of Human Services. “We are glad to provide this unique Goodwill week event to help connect people to jobs.”

Lawrenceville WORKS! aims to reduce unemployment in the Lawrenceville area by linking residents to job-training and employment services. The initiative is a partnership between Lawrenceville United, Lawrenceville Corporation, Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania, UPMC Health Plan, Duquesne Light, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
