The 17th annual Golf for Goodwill, presented by Peoples, will be held on Monday, August 14, simultaneously at both the Fox Chapel Golf Club and the Pittsburgh Field Club, two of the area’s most prestigious golf courses. All proceeds directly support Goodwill SWPA’s training and education programs that help people with employment barriers, including Goodwill’s Veteran services, which will be featured at Golf for Goodwill this year.
Golfers interested in participating can visit the event website -- (http://golfforgoodwill.org). The website offers online registration and payment, sponsorship information, and an option to pay via check.
Last year’s Golf for Goodwill event raised over $130,000 to support Goodwill’s training and education programs that help people overcome employment barriers and find meaningful jobs. This is the second year Peoples is sponsoring the annual event and the first year that the event is being held to feature Goodwill’s programs to support Veterans. Services include career transition support designed to provide holistic services to Veterans, current and former military, and their families.
“Peoples has been a great partner. When they presented us with the idea to host Golf for Goodwill this year to highlight our work with Veterans, we fully supported the idea. It made sense because it allows us to highlight the Veterans initiatives underway at Peoples, along with the services Goodwill provides for our Veterans,” said Michael J. Smith, President/CEO.
