Goodwill and community representatives will take part in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 9, to celebrate the opening of the first-ever Goodwill ComputerWorks Corner Store in North Central West Virginia. ComputerWorks Corner is located inside the Bridgeport Goodwill store, located at 1210 West Main St in Bridgeport, WV 26330.
“We are very excited about our new ComputerWorks Corner,” said Bora Caliskan, Director of Operations with Goodwill. “For quite some time, Goodwill shoppers in this area have been asking for more opportunities to purchase donated computers and computer equipment. ComputerWorks Corner is just what they’ve been asking for.”
To celebrate the opening, ComputerWorks Corner will have complimentary refreshments and a laptop give-a-way (valued at $299.99) texting contest. Froggy Country radio will be on site from 10am until 12pm.
ComputerWorks Corner has a large variety of computers and computer-related equipment for sale, including laptop and desktop computers, printers, hard drives, monitors, wireless routers and more.
Items at ComputerWorks Corner Goodwill are made possible from electronic donations made through Goodwill’s membership in Cyclepoint® from SourceAmerica®. In this program, Goodwill of North Central West Virginia accepts various electronics items for reuse or responsible recycling, such as computers and laptops, printers, LCD monitors, cell phones and copiers at Goodwill North Central West Virginia store locations during regular store hours. All computers that are sold in ComputerWorks Corner are refurbished by Goodwill staff, including wiping all data from hard drives to Department of Defense standards. Individuals who drop of items at Goodwill can receive a tax receipt for these donations.
