Katlyn wanted to get her GED® and knew she needed to brush up on her math skills. Unfortunately, due to childcare conflicts, she was unable to attend day-time classes at Goodwill.
To accommodate her schedule, Katlyn was matched with a tutor who was able to work with her in the evenings. Katlyn worked hard, and her tutor helped her enhance her math skills. When she felt ready, Katlyn took the GED test. She was able to use Goodwill’s scholarship fund to help pay for it.
Katlyn passed the GED test in 2016 and was selected as a student speaker at Goodwill’s graduation ceremony in October. She plans to attend cosmetology school in the future.
