Pittsburgh, October 29, 2020 -- A new Goodwill store in Penn Hills will celebrate its grand opening on Thursday, November 5. The new Goodwill store is located in the Penn Hills Shopping Center, 11660 Keleket Drive, Pittsburgh Pa 15235. Goodwill representatives and community leaders will take part in a 10:00 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We are so pleased to move to into this new community. We’ve had many of our shoppers tell us it would be a good location for a Goodwill Store,” said Andrew Marano, Vice President of Donated Goods Retail at Goodwill SWPA. “We also know there are many donors from the area who will help make this an excellent spot for a Goodwill thrift store.

The store is 15,000 square feet, including 8,500 square feet of sales floor. 30 new jobs have been created at the store.  Those donating items at the new store will be able to utilize a contact-free donation drop-off point behind the neighboring Giant Eagle.

Donations to Goodwill are sold in local stores to provide funding for Goodwill’s job training and education programs. Donating to Goodwill SWPA is also good for the environment helping to keep nearly 19 million pounds of material out of landfills annually.

At the new Penn Hills store and at all area Goodwill stores, the safety and well-being of customers, donors and team members is highest priority with procedures including mask wearing, social distancing, limited occupancy and enhanced cleaning.
