The official opening of the new Goodwill store in Westover will be celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 3. Participating in the 9 a.m. event will be Carol Atkins, developer of the new store, along with local officials and Goodwill representatives.

Located at 727 Fairmont Road, the Westover Goodwill store will employ 15-20 people, which will infuse $300,000 in payroll dollars to the local community annually.  This Westover Store is the 32nd store operated by Goodwill SWPA, six of which are located in north central West Virginia.

The 13,750-square-foot Westover store has about 7,100 square feet of sales floor space and features a convenient drive-through, canopy-covered donation drop-off center.

First-day shoppers will be treated to prizes, giveaways and free refreshments.  Local rock band, Trial by Fire, will be on site to play a free concert beginning at 11:00 a.m.

Andrew Marano, Assistant Vice President of Retail, said Goodwill is very excited about having a store in Westover. “This is a great community for us and we expect this new store to do very well because it represents the new look and feel of Goodwill stores – a bright, customer-friendly facility that offers a great shopping atmosphere for our customers to enjoy. It’s a wonderful place to shop for anyone who enjoys getting a bargain. Good clothes and good prices for a good cause – that’s what you’ll find at today’s Goodwill.”

Martin Perry of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank advises Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania in their retail expansion plan and represented Goodwill on the lease of the store.
