Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania can help businesses access On-the-Job Training (OJT) Funds through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act (WIOA). OJT gives new employees an opportunity to earn while they learn, AND it gives businesses a chance to recover some of the costs associated with training new employees.

How it works:

OJT is conducted by an employer while job candidates or employees are working and learning the skills and information necessary for productive and satisfactory job performance. By utilizing OJT funds, your business can save money while turning great job candidates into productive and profitable employees.

  • We pay a training reimbursement amount up to 75% of the wage of your new hire or incumbent worker.
  • The position must be full-time (at least 32 hours/week), must pay at least $14.28/hour, and must be considered permanent (as opposed to seasonal or temporary).
  • The maximum training period per participant is six months. Reimbursement rates vary, but can be up to $10,000.
