Transition services prepare students with disabilities to move from school to post-school life. The student’s activities are based on his or her needs, preferences, and interests, and include the following areas:
- instruction,
- community experiences,
- development of employment and other post-school adult living objectives,
- acquisition of daily living skills (when appropriate), and
- functional vocational evaluation.
Goodwill’s transition services department consists of three programs: Pre-Employment Transition Services, Transition WORKS! Pittsburgh and UPMC Project Search. These programs provide employability and life skills training in both classroom and community environments.
